Aporum subteres first time published by William Griffith in Calcutta Journal of Natural History, and Miscellany of the Arts and Sciences in India volume 5 : 370 (1845). The hollotype specimen collected from  on tree in Ayer Punnus (Rhim) Malacca, Peninsular Malaysia.

We this this is the ID because the flowers look like Aporum acerosum, but differ more bigger flowers, a bit differs apex labellum and plant more bigger than Aporum acerosum. This plant more longer than hollotypus habitus thats say the plant c. 1 foot or less long. This specimen reach 50 cm. long.

The characteristic labellum : labello spathulato emarginato plicato- undulato fundo sub.tricristato is fide in this specimen.
